The Alcove Angling Club was established in 1962 for the furtherance of the interest of local angling and to provide coarse fishing for its members.
The Club owns one lake, known as The Lido, in Fishponds, Bristol and leases three others, one in Henfield and two at Whitehouse Farm, Earthcott Green, both near Bristol. They are all well stocked with a mixture of coarse fish, including carp, crucians, F1 carp, roach, bream, tench, perch, chub, pike and rudd.
Alcove AC is a non-profit organisation with any superfluous funds being used for maintenance and improvement of the interests of the Club. Alcove Angling Club is also a member of the Bristol & West Federation of Anglers, which gives access to the river Avon from Londonderry Farm at Keynsham to Swineford, which is around 3 miles of river fishing.
